Banghwa Bridge

Banghwa Bridge is one of the Han River bridges built to enable Incheon International Airport to serve as a hub airport in Northeast Asia in the 21st century. With a length of 2.6 km, it is the longest road bridge among the Han River bridges, and it is the 27th bridge over the Han River, designed and constructed with a long-span arch truss structure for the first time in South Korea, excelling in artistry and functionality. The arch of the bridge borrows the soft image of traditional temples and tiled roof eaves, becoming the third artificial peak following the peaks of Gaehwasan Mountain and Deokyang Mountain. Its geometric shape reminiscent of a giant aircraft about to take off and the enchanting night view reflected on the waves of the Han River at night evoke admiration from viewers. The bridge lights are turned on from approximately sunset to 22:00, allowing ample time to enjoy a drive while appreciating the bridge and Korea's night scenery. Not only is the night view beautiful, but the sight of the setting sun beyond Banghwa Bridge harmonizing with its arches at dusk is a breathtaking spectacle. Located on the outskirts of Seoul, Banghwa Bridge itself offers a chance to escape the congested city center and enjoy leisurely bike paths or walking trails.
