Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Wondangsam Park is a park located in Banghak-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul, with a history dating back about 600 years to the Wondang village where the Papyeong Yun clan settled. The main facility, Wondangsam, is named after Wondang village and is said to have supplied water for daily use for hundreds of years. Currently, groundwater is connected to restore Wondangsam as a traditional pond so that it flows without drying up. The traditional pond Wondangsam and the nearby pavilion Samojeong harmonize to create a serene walking course. The over 13,000 trees planted during the restoration provide a cool resting place. In autumn, the very large ginkgo tree over 800 years old, designated as a Seoul Metropolitan City monument, turns red with autumn leaves, and there is a deck path around the tree, making it nice to explore.
