Located on the southernmost beach of Geoje, Garas Mountain is the highest mountain in Geoje with an elevation of 585m. It lies on the same ridge as Noja Mountain, where the mountain behind Hakdong is Noja Mountain and the mountain behind Dadae is Garas Mountain. The forest is dense and rich in maple trees, making it the best place for autumn foliage among the mountains of Geoje Island. The distinct seasonal changes of the mountain landscape are as beautiful as silk, which is why it is called Garas Mountain (加羅山). At the summit, there is the Garas Mountain Beacon Fire Station, and from this peak, the areas are divided into Tappo-ri and Dadae-ri in Nambu-myeon, and Hakdong-ri in Dongbu-myeon.
