Gamagol Valley

Located in Yongyeon-ri, Yong-myeon, Damyang-gun, this valley stretches 4km in all directions around Yongchubong Peak (523m). Although the mountain is not particularly high, the valley features a vast area of 311,000㎡ with dense forests, clear water, and spectacular rock formations. From the entrance, following the valley upstream reveals numerous large and small waterfalls and ponds that make visitors stop in their tracks. The well-formed forest provides ample shade, and rest areas are nicely placed along the way. Going deeper along the valley road, you will find Gamagol Ecological Park, which requires an entrance fee. While swimming is not allowed in Gamagol Ecological Garden, the downstream Gamagol Valley is open for water play. Although less natural, the paths are well-maintained, and camping grounds, pensions, and restaurants are located around the valley, allowing for camping, water activities, and accommodation with meals. Damyangho Lake, where Gamagol Valley converges, is nearby. Damyang Resort is about a 20-minute drive (approximately 16km) away, and Damyang-eup is about a 24-minute drive away.
