Why travelers stop here
This is the house where former President Park Chung-hee lived with his family from 1958 until 1961, when he moved to the official residence of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for National Reconstruction in Jangchung-dong. (Area: 128.93㎡) This house is the only remaining house among those built by the Joseon City Management Corporation in the late 1930s during the development of the Sindang-dong cultural housing district. It is recognized as an important resource in Korean housing history and has been designated as National Registered Cultural Heritage No. 412. Based on photographs and media materials from the time the family lived there, the house was restored and opened to the public in 2015.
