Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village

Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village was created in December 2013 in alleys connecting about 30 households in Chusan-dong and Seongho-dong. The tour begins at the intersection of Seongho-seo 10-gil and Seongho-seo 2-gil, where a mural village map is installed. It is easy to find thanks to a mural depicting the faces of artists associated with Changwon, such as sculptor Moon Shin and poet Cheon Sang-byeong, painted onto the large rock face reminiscent of Mount Rushmore in the United States.

The alleys and stairs, just over 450 meters long, are filled with various paintings. At the end of a short rainbow-colored stone staircase, there is a century-old well that local residents have used since 1910. The mural of a water-carrying device next to the century-old well, which overlooks Masan Port, is the best photo spot in Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village. In addition, murals reminiscent of Mondrian's works, a fish mural symbolizing success, and a mural decorating a wall like a café entrance fill the narrow alleys with beautiful pictures, making the walk delightful. When visiting Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village, keep in mind that it is a residential area and refrain from invading residents' privacy.
