Unlike other mountains in Yangcheon-gu, which generally have rounded topography, Galsan boasts a scenic cliff on its eastern side that is cut like a precipice. Due to long-term erosion by the Anyangcheon Stream, the mountain peak has become sharp like a blade, leading to the name 'Kalsan' (knife mountain), which was later refined to 'Galsan'. At the entrance of Galsan, there is a Children's Traffic Park, and on the midslope, there are rest areas such as a central plaza and walking trails. At the summit, an observatory offers a panoramic view of Yangcheon. At the top of Galsan, along with 'Galsanjeong' pavilion, the country's first 'Large Triangulation Point' is installed.
