Gasiri National Wind Power Plant

Gasiri, located in Pyoseon-myeon at the southeastern tip of Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island, is an area that remains relatively undeveloped within Jeju. In January 2009, it was selected as the final site through Korea's first local resident participation-based wind power plant site selection contest, leading to the village's transformation. The Gasiri National Wind Power Plant is situated in the Gasiri communal pasture, where a vast plain features a rapeseed flower complex. It is close to Noksan-ro Rapeseed Flower Road, a famous drive course where you can enjoy the collaboration of rapeseed flowers and cherry blossoms in spring. In autumn, the Wind Fields offer a spectacular view of shimmering silver grass and large wind turbines turning, providing an exotic beauty. Here, you can enjoy scenes of Jeju ponies and cows peacefully grazing against the backdrop of the wind power plant, harmonizing with Hallasan Mountain and stone walls. To the left of the wind power plant entrance is the path to the Rapeseed Flower Plaza, where you can have a cup of tea and enjoy the pastoral scenery from the café stairs. There is also a rapeseed flower complex behind the café.
