Currently located on Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, UM Gallery opened in August 1990 alongside the Musim Gallery in Cheongju. UM Gallery serves as a space for contemporary art communication, hosting curated exhibitions by inviting talented artists focusing on contemporary art including painting, sculpture, printmaking, and installation. Additionally, it discovers experimental and notable young artists, providing them with space for free creative activities. Starting with monochrome painting in the 1990s, it has established itself as a professional gallery that now exhibits works of conceptual art artists and fills exhibitions with art historically significant artists, while also striving to discover promising emerging artists. Operating galleries in both Seoul and Cheongju, it aims to connect local and Seoul regions to expand the art market, and further seeks entry into the global art market through international art fairs.
