Why travelers stop here
Located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, ALBUS Gallery is Korea's first illustration-specialized gallery, opened in May 2017. Its name is derived from the Latin word 'ALBUS', meaning white, the origin of all images.
Resembling a rolled white sheet of drawing paper, ALBUS Gallery aims to showcase the unique stories of artists, like an open book containing narratives on a white background. It introduces illustration works that have rarely been highlighted as art pieces, and strives to create a culture where adults and children can together appreciate and enjoy not only illustrations from picture books and fairy tales often seen by children, but also all beautiful pictures that carry stories.
