Daemosan Urban Natural Park

서울특별시 강남구 일원동 산63-52

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located in Gangnam-gu, Daemosan is a low mountain with an elevation of 293m, once called Guksubong. It was originally called Halmi Mountain because its shape resembled an old grandmother, but after King Taejong's Heonleung Royal Tomb was placed here, the name was changed to Daemosan by royal order. At the mountain entrance, there is a nature learning area planted with various rare trees, loved as an outdoor educational space for children and a walking path for residents. The trails of Daemosan include a ridge path along the mountain ridge and a circular trail that remains close to nature. The stone pagoda built over about 20 years and the observatory are also notable attractions. In particular, in 2021, a low-gradient walking path called Jarak-gil was created, allowing people who usually find hiking difficult, such as those with disabilities, the elderly, and pregnant women, to safely use the forest path.
