Seoul Energy Dream Center

The Energy Dream Center is a monumental building in itself. It is Korea's first energy-zero public building, producing as much energy as it consumes for its operation. External motorized blinds and windmill-shaped reflective walls reduce direct sunlight, and the uniquely slanted windows adjust seasonal solar radiation, cutting energy usage by 70%. It self-generates 30% of its energy through solar power and geothermal heating and cooling.

The exhibition hall consists of three zones: Energy Paradigm, Energy Dream, and Energy Dream City. A corner that reveals the hidden secret of the Energy Dream Center—zero-energy technology through special construction processes and detailed models—is popular among teenagers. The blackout corner, which creates a crisis situation due to a power outage and allows visitors to experience response methods, is also intriguing. An eco-tour with a story is operated, where visitors ride an electric bus to tour the center and the renewable energy facilities around World Cup Park.
