Gangseondae is a hexagonal-roofed pavilion located in the upper reaches of the Geumgang River in Yangsan-myeon, Yeongdong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. It is one of the eight scenic spots of Yangsan (Yangsan 8 Gyeong), known for its beautiful landscapes. Gangseondae is considered the second scenic spot of Yangsan, situated in a place so outstanding that legend says immortals descended to play here. Perched on a towering rock, it harmonizes with the surrounding old pine trees, exuding an elegant charm from afar. Standing on the pavilion, one can enjoy the sound of the river hitting the cliffs and the scenery. It is said that Gangseondae serves as a connection between the rock with strong yang energy and the water containing yin energy. Inside the pavilion, poems by Joseon-era poets Yi An-nul and Im Je are hung, adding to the refined atmosphere.
