Why travelers stop here
Gyeongbangru is undoubtedly the most famous Chinese restaurant in Namwon. Established in 1909, it boasts a 110-year history and tradition, operated by fourth-generation overseas Chinese. The main menu items are tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and muljjajang (water jjajangmyeon), and the tangsuyuk is renowned as one of the best in the country. While the basic Chinese restaurant menu item, jajangmyeon, is also delicious, the muljjajang, which has a taste between red jjamppong and brown jjajang, is a special menu unique to this place. The sauce, filled with the aroma of stir-frying, combined with the scent of pepper, offers an excellent savory flavor. It became famous after being introduced on various TV programs including Baek Jong-won's 3 Great Kings, but it is also highly recommended as the best restaurant in Namwon. Nearby, Gwanghallu is located, making it a great place to visit for a walk before or after a meal.
