Gyesongseowon, located in Gyesong-ri, Yeonggwang-eup, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, was established in 1966 at the initiative of local Confucian scholars to commemorate the integrity and loyalty of Hadong Jeong-gan and Misan Jeong-rye-son. A shrine was built on the current site, initially called Donaesa, where various ancestral rites were held, and later renamed Gyesongseowon. The rites are held on the 20th day of the second lunar month and the 20th day of the eighth lunar month. Nearby tourist attractions include Usan Neighborhood Park, Yeonggwang Art Center, Yeonggwang Sportium, Yeonggwang Hyanggyo Confucian School, and Mulmusan Mountain.
