Old Seodo Station

Old Seodo Station is the oldest wooden closed station in Korea, built in 1932. It is a former Jeolla Line train station located between Sanseong Station (downbound) and Osu Station (upbound). It began operation as a flag stop with station staff on October 1, 1934, and was promoted to a regular station on October 1, 1937. On October 27, 2002, due to the Jeolla Line improvement project, the station was relocated to its current location. Passenger service was discontinued on July 15, 2004, and from July 1, 2008, it was downgraded to an unstaffed flag stop, leading to the closure of the station office. Recently, it has become known as a filming location for the drama 'Mr. Sunshine' and also serves as the main setting for author Choi Myeong-hee's epic novel 'Honbul.' As a historic Jeolla Line station and facility, it is preserved and managed in its original state. Through the preserved facilities, visitors can feel the history of that era, while also enjoying diverse and emotional photo spots where nature and the railway harmonize.
