Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Built in 1923, this Japanese colonial building was a representative financial facility operated by Imperial Japan for colonial rule. It is also the bank that appears in Chae Man-sik's [Turbid Stream], and after liberation, it was used as a bank building for the Bank of Korea, Hanil Bank, and others. Now, as the Modern Architecture Museum, it exhibits Gunsan's modern architectural structures, Japanese colonial period currency, and historical artifacts.
