Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Geumgang Rohas Daecheong Park is a park created near Daecheong Dam in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon. It is a natural ecological park built from 1998 to 2011 on a scale of 143,386㎡ to promote healthy leisure activities, health and recreation, and public welfare for urban residents. It is suitable for fostering camaraderie through field trips, family outings, and picnics for companies and groups. Adjacent to Daecheong Lake and the Geumgang River, a 470m-long waterside deck has been built along the riverbank, allowing visitors to enjoy birds such as egrets and a colony of willow trees.

Additionally, the park features the [Daecheong Culture Exhibition Hall], where various exhibitions and works by local artists are held, a 40,500㎡ wide grass square, a rock garden, a Metasequoia forest rest area for forest bathing and relaxation, and a children's forest experience center. Recognized as an eco-friendly citizen rest area, it was selected as an outstanding village for natural ecological restoration by the Ministry of Environment three consecutive times (May 2006 to December 2014). Nearby attractions include Daecheong Dam, Cheongnamdae, Yongho-dong Paleolithic Site, and Sintanjin Market (3rd and 8th of each month).
