Geumgang Wetland Ecological Park

Geumgang Wetland Ecological Park is a large park created by Gunsan City along the Geumgang River as part of the Geumgangho Tourist Attraction Development Plan. The park features a reed forest walking path, an observation deck that allows visitors to cross over an ecological pond, and a waterside migratory bird trail. At the top of a small hill within the park, a pavilion has been built to offer a cool view of the Geumgang River. Bicycles are available for free rental at the park entrance, so hiking is also a good option. The migratory bird observatory located in the center is virtually a symbol of the park. It is considered one of the best spots in Korea for birdwatching, and in November, against the backdrop of a sunset that paints the Geumgang River red, you can witness the spectacular sight of millions of Baikal teals performing synchronized flights. In addition, various migratory birds such as whooper swans, swan geese, black-faced spoonbills, Eurasian spoonbills, mallards, spot-billed ducks, greater white-fronted geese, and black-tailed gulls can be seen alongside silver grass and reeds, making it popular among family travelers with children.
