Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located in Seodaemun-gu, Geumho Kalguksu may not have a sophisticated exterior or stylish interior, but it offers a warm and cozy atmosphere. The signature dish, kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup), features a clean and refreshing broth with a rich anchovy aroma. The chewy, homemade sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) that does not taste like flour makes it perfect for a hangover cure or a hearty meal. There is also a menu item called makgogi, which resembles dwaeji duruchigi (stir-fried pork). It is so generous in both quantity and flavor that it is almost a shame to call it makgogi. In addition, various meal options such as cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste stew) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) are also available.
