Why travelers stop here
This house, a Tangible Cultural Heritage of Chungcheongbuk-do, is said to have been the residence of the concubine of Kim Se-gyun, who served as Minister of Personnel (Ijo Panseo) during the late Joseon Dynasty. It was relocated to this site in 1983 due to the construction of Chungju Dam and is currently designated as a Tangible Cultural Heritage of Chungcheongbuk-do. Originally divided into an inner house (anchae) and a guest house (sarangchae), the inner house was moved to Mureung-ri, leaving only the guest house. With its L-shaped structure, the size and style of the house offer a glimpse into the life of a noble family (sadaebu) during the Joseon Dynasty. Set against the backdrop of Deokju Mountain on a high stone platform, climbing the stone steps and passing through a single-leaf gate reveals its splendid appearance.
