Why travelers stop here
This is a literary experience exhibition space located in Daegu's Yakjeon Alley. It is a place that three-dimensionally reconstructs the story and characters of the novel "The House with a Deep Yard" set in Jung-gu, Daegu after the Korean War, as well as the lives of Daegu refugees. It was created by remodeling a hanok on the site of the former Namseong-dong Senior Citizens' Center and consists of an exhibition hall, information room, restroom, yard (corridor), alley, and outer gate. The exhibition hall features a model of the house with a deep yard, character introductions, photos of 1950s Daegu scenery and daily life, Kilnam's room, an archive of donated items from author Kim Won-il, and the author's room. In the yard and alley, a 1950s water tap (kitchen), photo zone, and photo bulletin board are installed to allow visitors to experience the lives of refugees. Although it is not an actual location that appears in the novel, you can meet 1950s Daegu together with Kilnam here.
