Why travelers stop here
The name Naejangsan (內藏山) means 'the mountain with endless hidden treasures.' In autumn, Naejangsan is covered in vivid red maple leaves, leaving deep memories in the hearts of visitors, earning it the nickname 'Geumgang of Honam.' The breathtaking scenery created by the fiery maple tunnel, Dodeok Falls, and Geumseon Falls is unrivaled as a symbol of autumn foliage beauty. Not only in autumn when the entire mountain becomes a sea of red leaves, but also in spring with azaleas and cherry blossoms, in summer with thick and lush greenery, in winter with spectacular rocky cliffs and beautiful snowscapes, and throughout all four seasons with various wildflowers in full bloom, it moves all who pass through. Naejangsan National Park encompasses Naejangsan, one of the 'Five Famous Mountains of Honam,' along with Baegamsan to the south, historic temples such as Naejangsa and Baegyangsa, and Ipamsanseong Fortress, which was the last place General Jeon Bong-jun passed through before his arrest. As the saying goes, 'Baegyang in spring, Naejang in autumn,' it is a continuous series of scenic wonders.
