Why travelers stop here
Haneul Park, where the Seoul Eulalia Festival is held, is an artificial garbage mountain 98 meters above sea level, created from the former Seoul landfill site where various types of waste were buried. It was transformed into an ecological park in time for the 2002 FIFA Korea-Japan World Cup. In particular, Haneul Park planted eulalia grass to express the restoration of the barren landfill environment back to nature. Now, every October, the Seoul Eulalia Festival is held in the vast eulalia fields in the heart of the city.
