Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Dangjin Electric Power Culture Center (Energy Campus) is an exhibition hall located near the Dangjin Thermal Power Plant. It was established by Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd., which operates the Dangjin Thermal Power Plant, to promote the electric power industry to local residents and provide a venue for cultural exchange. The indoor exhibition facilities consist of the Energy Hall, Electricity Hall, Environment Hall, and Earth Hall, where visitors can learn about the history from humanity's discovery of fire to the use of electricity, as well as the process of generating electrical energy. It explains the global environment and future alternative energy sources, and displays scaled-down power generation facilities and electrical equipment. A distinctive feature is that instead of simple explanatory panels, it uses video media, games, and quizzes to allow visitors to experience electrical energy in an engaging way. It is a youth experiential learning center where you can see electricity react and move when you touch it, and observe the movement of water according to electric fields, allowing you to perceive electrical energy with all five senses. It also has an auditorium and seminar rooms available for rental when needed. Dangjin Electric Power Culture Center (Energy Campus) can be accessed via National Route 38, Local Routes 633 and 647, and then Local Route 615. The Seohaean Expressway's Songak IC and Seosan IC are nearby. Nearby attractions include Waemok Village, Janggo Port, Dobido Port, and Nanjido.
