Why travelers stop here
Daebang Village is a fishing village located next to Samcheonpo Bridge, situated at the foot of Gaksan Mountain. It has now become a large-scale tourist complex developed by Sacheon City, attracting many visitors. The village boasts numerous tourist resources such as Daebangjin Gulhang, Samcheonpo Bridge Park, Samcheonpo Daebang Military Forest Park, and Sacheon Sea Cable Car. Daebangjin Gulhang, a cultural heritage material of Gyeongsangnam-do, was originally the site of Gura-ryang's camp, established during the Goryeo Dynasty to defend against frequent Japanese pirate raids along the Korean coast, and housed a naval commander. After the camp was abandoned, it remained as a small port and was rebuilt in the late Joseon Dynasty. With the loss of national sovereignty in 1910, the camp's documents were burned, and now it has been restored and is used as a dock. Samcheonpo Bridge, starting from Daebang Village, connects Samcheonpo Port and Changseon-myeon in Namhae, and the Changseon-Samcheonpo Bridge has become a tourist attraction in Sacheon City. The surrounding area is rich in tourist sites including Sacheon Sea Cable Car, Aramaru Aquarium, and Gaksanseong Fortress.
