Why travelers stop here
Daejangbong Peak is a peak on Daejangdo Island, part of the Gogunsan Archipelago in Gunsan. It is one of the must-visit travel destinations in Gunsan, offering beautiful views of the Gogunsan Archipelago and the West Sea. Recognized as a representative observatory of the Gogunsan Archipelago, Daejangbong Peak features a winding path with wooden stairs that takes about 10 to 20 minutes to climb. Passing by Halmaebawi Rock, you will reach the observatory. The 360-degree panoramic view allows you to see the entire Gogunsan Archipelago at a glance, a sight that naturally elicits exclamations of awe.
To enter Daejangdo Island, you must cross the Jangja Bridge to reach Jangjado Island and then walk. Vehicle access is restricted on Daejangdo Island to preserve the island, so you must use the parking lot on Jangjado Island. Nearby, there is the Jangjagyo Skywalk, which crosses over the sea, making it a great spot to visit together.
