Dongnakwon

Dongnakwon is located in an alley next to a 600-year-old large ginkgo tree in Jeonju Hanok Village. This hanok, formerly used as a Bank of Korea residence, was renovated by Kijeon University and opened under the name Dongnakwon to serve as a hanok experience center for the public. Dongnakwon is a hanok hotel offering accommodation, garden rental, an open-air foot bath café, and sunbed and picnic table rentals. Branch 1 and Branch 2 of Dongnakwon are a 4-minute walk apart. Accommodations include 4 rooms in Haengnangchae, 3 in Sarangchae, 2 in Anchae, 2 in Byeoldangchae, and Hanok Rooms 1 through 8. As an auxiliary facility, there is a foot bath café set in a private, unique forest relaxation space enjoyed outdoors. Upon entering Dongnakwon, a rectangular pond with swimming carp catches the eye. Passing between Haengnangchae with small guest rooms and Sarangchae adorned with jars, you reach Anchae and a yard of about 200 pyeong. On the wall of Sarangchae, tiles painted with wildflowers are hung, adding a stylish atmosphere. The 200-pyeong grassy yard features a deck with parasols, tables, and chairs. It is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the Dongnakwon yard after a meal in Jeonju Hanok Village. Small weddings or small parties are often held on the grassy yard of Dongnakwon. Between the jar garden of Sarangchae and the grassy yard, a commemorative tree planted during a visit by former President Lee Myung-bak's wife, Kim Yoon-ok, stands. On the opposite side of the grassy yard, a commemorative tree planted during a visit by the late former President Kim Dae-jung is also a point of pride for Dongnakwon.
