Dongnae Hot Spring Outdoor Foot Bath

One of the oldest hot springs in Korea, located in the Dongnae Hot Spring District. It is a health hot spring where you can enjoy a foot bath in hot spring water above 40°C that gushes from a dragon head sculpture. Dongnae Hot Spring appears in various ancient texts, including the Samguk Sagi and Dongguk Yeoji Seungnam. The Samguk Sagi states that the heat of the hot spring water is enough to boil eggs, and the Dongguk Yeoji Seungnam says that among hot springs across the country, Dongnae Hot Spring is the best, so patients who bathed there would recover, and it is said that kings of the Silla Dynasty frequently visited. The foot bath stimulates the muscles and joints around the feet and ankles, where important acupoints of the body's 12 meridians are concentrated, with hot water to promote smooth blood circulation throughout the body. It is known to be effective in preventing and treating foot fatigue, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, lethargy, menstrual irregularities, back pain, and arthritis. The water temperature in the Dongnae Hot Spring District is about 63°C, and it is a weakly alkaline saline spring. Drinking the hot spring water is said to be effective for chronic stomach diseases and gastric atony. Around the foot bath, there are large bathhouses in the Dongnae Hot Spring District, such as Heosimcheong, Nokcheon Tang, and Cheonil Tang, and the hot spring symbol monument, Onjeong Gaegunbi, is nearby.
