Dongbang Gisa Sikdang

Located in Gwaeok-myeon, Goheung-gun, Dongbang Gisa Sikdang serves only daepae samgyeopsal baekban (sliced pork belly set meal). It offers excellent value for money, making it a great choice for solo travelers. The bulgogi baekban comes with a separate grill so you can cook the meat yourself. Alongside the sliced pork belly, twelve delicious side dishes are served. While wrapping the pork belly in lettuce with ssamjang is tasty, pairing it with the provided side dishes enhances the flavor. The side dishes mainly consist of pickled vegetables and kimchi; notably, the onion kimchi, unique to Dongbang Gisa Sikdang, is refreshing and savory like mul-kimchi (water kimchi), providing a clean aftertaste when eaten with the meat. Additionally, the flower crab stew (kkotge jjigae) is a specialty exclusive to this restaurant. The stew, made with a broth of doenjang (soybean paste) and a bit of gochugaru (red chili powder), contains a large piece of flower crab and tofu. With green onions and onions providing the base flavor, the stew is spicy, refreshing, and clean-tasting.
