The beautiful mountain scenery and dense forests, preserving the mystery of ancient times, create a spectacular view with about 20 waterfalls of various sizes along the valley. Since ancient times, this place has been called Meokbawi due to the abundant water, and many vacationers gather here in summer to enjoy water play. There are restaurants, cafes, eateries, an auto camping site, and the Palgong Rest Area camping ground nearby. The 79th local road from Daegu, crossing Palgongsan Hantijae into Gunwi, is known as a great drive course, and the number of visitors to Dongsan Valley in summer is increasing. Nearby attractions include Gunwi Samjon Seokgul (Three Buddhas Cave) and Palgongsan National Park.
