Deungeok Hot Spring Complex

Deungeok Hot Spring is a large-scale hot spring complex located at the foot of Sinbulsan Mountain, the Alps of Yeongnam, in Deungeok-ri, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan Metropolitan City. Its official name is Deungeok Hot Spring Source Protection District, and it is also called Sinbulsan Hot Spring. The hot spring water is an alkaline bicarbonate spring containing calcium, extracted from 600 to 800 meters underground. It is effective for various skin inflammations, neuralgia, digestive diseases, bronchitis, high blood pressure, and skin beauty, and it also serves as drinkable mineral water. Nearby tourist attractions include Amethyst Cave Country, Jakcheonjeong, the Silla temple Seoknamsa, and Tongdosa, and it is connected to Yeongchuksan, Gajisan, and Jaeyaksan Mountains, offering the joy of hiking and relaxation together. The main road in front of the hot spring complex is actually a downhill slope, but due to an optical illusion, it appears to be an uphill road, known as the Ghost Road. If you stop your car in neutral gear at the point marked with a START sign, the car will slide up this uphill road.
