Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Known as a eo-tang (fish stew) restaurant in Seosang-myeon, Hamyang-gun, Ttalbujajip is a popular eatery among hikers climbing Namdeogyusan Mountain and customers from nearby golf courses. The signature menu is the spicy eo-tang, boiled and served hot. The basic side dishes that come with the eo-tang, such as kkakdugi (radish kimchi), eggplant, and cucumber, remind you of home-cooked meals. For those who cannot eat eo-tang, the doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and cheonggukjang-jjigae (fermented soybean stew) are also popular. Additionally, photos of the owner's four daughters are attached to the restaurant wall, making you smile as you recall the name Ttalbujajip (House of Daughters). Nearby is the grave of Nongae, who threw herself into the Nam River along with a Japanese general during the Imjin War.
