Chugok Mineral Spring

To reach Chugok Mineral Spring, famous for its water taste being different from other mineral springs, you must travel from Chuncheon toward Yanggu, or from Wisaembat in Chuncheon toward Cheonjeon-ri. Upon arriving at Chugok Mineral Spring, you will find an information board with a legend about discovering the spring after receiving a revelation from the mountain spirit, along with a brief introduction to the spring. Climbing a little further, the spring appears in a valley with a small stream flowing along the mountain slope, divided into upper and lower baths. It is a mineral spring where you can enjoy a unique water with a licorice-like taste. The legend of Chugok Mineral Spring tells that a man named Kim Won-bo discovered the spring after receiving a revelation from the mountain spirit of Samyeongsan in a dream. It contains aesthetic influencing substances such as iron, fluorine, manganese, and aluminum, and has a slight reddish tint.
