Maenggaetjip

Maenggaetjip means 'the house at the very end' in the Jeolla dialect. It is located at the very end of the ecological tunnel, hence the name. The exterior, with its 1970s retro style, is impressive. Inside, there are about 10 tables that seat 4 people each. There is a table in front of the kitchen that can accommodate up to 8 people. Phone reservations are not accepted; only on-site reservations and waiting are possible. There is no separate parking lot, so you can park on the roadside or near residential areas. They serve first-grade domestic pork belly that is aged, rapidly chilled, and sliced directly. A minimum order of 3 servings is required, and there is no additional table setting fee. You can use the self-bar to get more vegetables and kimchi. After eating the pork belly, the fried rice, which is a must, comes with seaweed, making it even more savory. Nearby attractions include Yi Sun-sin Park and Ungcheon Waterfront Park, making it easy to combine sightseeing.
