Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Jipdarigol Natural Recreation Forest is located in a valley carved into Chuncheon Lake by a stream originating between Eungbong Peak (1,436m) and Chukdaebong Peak (1,125m) on the slopes of Hwaaksan Mountain (1,468m) near Chuncheon. It features clear, abundant water year-round, a valley with majestic rocks, and a natural deciduous primeval forest. The seasonal changes are distinct: in spring, the entire mountain is filled with deep greenery and spring flowers; in midsummer, the valley remains so cool that staying for over 10 minutes can make you feel cold; in autumn, colorful foliage creates a beautiful spectacle, and in winter, snowy landscapes are stunning. The natural primeval forest is home to rare wildflowers and trees, and with fresh air and clean water, it is a treasure trove of pristine nature where squirrels and red squirrels frequently cross the roads. Additionally, it offers accommodation, sports facilities, hiking trails, and walking paths for visitors, making it an ideal family vacation spot in all seasons.
