Why travelers stop here
Balwangsan Skywalk can be accessed via the cable car located within Yongpyong Resort. Balwangsan is 1,458 meters above sea level, making it the 12th highest mountain in Korea, but it is easily climbable thanks to the cable car installed within Yongpyong Resort. Board the cable car at Dragon Plaza boarding station and enjoy the scenery of Balwangsan for about 20 minutes to reach the summit. The mountain scenery from the top is already enchanting, but if you want to absorb the energy of Balwangsan with your whole body, it is recommended to step onto the skywalk.
This skywalk, located at the highest point in Korea, can withstand the weight of 100 adults per square meter and is said to be safe enough to withstand an earthquake of magnitude 6.5. The 360-degree rotating observation deck of the skywalk makes you feel as if you are floating above the clouds, and on clear days, you can see as far as Gyeongpodae Beach in Gangneung and the Daegwallyeong Wind Farm. There are photo zones throughout the area to capture memorable photos of the stunning scenery. For safety, entry is restricted during strong winds, snow, or rain, and high heels, ski boots, and snowboard equipment are also prohibited.
