Why travelers stop here
Baenaegol is a valley located in the heart of the Yeongnam Alps. It is called Baenaegol because many wild pear trees grow along the clear stream, and it is also known by its Chinese character name 'Icheon-ri'. It is a gorge stretching over 20 ri (about 8 km) between the southern Alps of Sinbulsan~Yeongchuksan and the western Alps connecting Cheonhwangsan~Jaeaksan in Miryang, and it is a place visited by many people in summer.
Still preserving its pristine natural beauty, it is known as a place where gorosoe (maple sap) is collected in spring, and in autumn, Baenaegol apples are famous, and an apple festival is also held. Crossing the mountain pass from Yangsan city, you arrive at Baenaegol surrounded by mountains, a natural tourist attraction where you can escape the city and enjoy the peace of nature.
