Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Designated as a Registered Cultural Heritage in July 2005, Bongam Reservoir was built during the Japanese colonial period to provide drinking water to Japanese residents and collaborators living in Masan. Although the reservoir's function was closed due to the water supply project, it has become a healing spot visited by many people, with nature-friendly trails, rest facilities, walking paths, and deck roads creating a waterfront space. The circumference of Bongam Reservoir is about 1.5 km, and the path is even and shaded, making it perfect for quietly enjoying the scenery and taking a leisurely walk without burden. It also features various facilities such as a children's playground and a forest library.
