Bongpyeong Beach has been open as a beach since 1984, operating annually from July to the end of August. The white sand beach is about 250m long, but it also refers to the entire 10km stretch of white sand from Deokcheon-ri to Hujeong-ri, Bongpyeong-ri, and Onyang-ri. With pine trees, rose bushes, a clean sandy beach, and clear seawater, it has all the conditions for a beach, but the water is deep, so caution is needed. Nearby tourist attractions include Hujeong Beach, Deokgu Hot Springs, Yuhwang Hot Springs, Seongnyu Cave, Freshwater Fish Exhibition Hall, and Bulyeong Valley.
