Hwarangdae Railroad Park

The former Hwarangdae Station, which was Seoul's last small station, has been reborn as Hwarangdae Railroad Park. This park was created on the Gyeongchun Line railway section that was discontinued in 2010 after its opening in 1939. Instead of removing the old tracks, they were preserved as they were, transforming the area into a romantic space that preserves the memories of the old Gyeongchun Line and provides a walking path. On the abandoned tracks, actual trains from the 1950s, including Mika trains, narrow-gauge trains, and trams from the Czech Republic and Hiroshima, Japan, are displayed in various locations, making it a favorite photography spot for enthusiasts and a quiet walking space for local residents. The old Hwarangdae Station within the park has been turned into an exhibition hall where visitors can view the structure and timeline of the station, as well as the history of the Gyeongchun Line on digital screens. The ticket booth, iron desks, and nostalgic train spaces add to the analog atmosphere.
