Uiryeolsa is a shrine located within Hyochang Park that houses the portraits of patriotic martyrs. It enshrines the portraits of seven individuals: Kim Gu, the President of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea; key figures of the Provisional Government (Lee Dong-nyeong, the first Speaker of the Provisional Assembly; Jo Seong-hwan, the Minister of Military Affairs; Cha I-seok, the Chief Secretary); and the three martyrs (Lee Bong-chang, Yun Bong-gil, and Baek Jeong-gi). A joint memorial service was held on April 13, 1979, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, and an annual memorial service has been held on the anniversary of the establishment of the Provisional Government ever since.
