Seoul Guui Water Purification Plant No. 1 and No. 2 (Guui Arisu Water Purification Center)

The Guui Arisu Water Purification Center is a place where you can see the history of Korea's water purification facilities at a glance. Guui Plants No. 1 and No. 2, which produced tap water between 1941 and 2002, were designated as National Registered Cultural Heritage in 2007. Here, you can visit an exhibition hall that provides detailed information about Arisu, Seoul's tap water, and learn about the process of how Arisu is made. Additionally, the Guui Arisu Cultural Heritage tour program is operated, tailored to different age groups including children, youth, and adults. For children aged 6-7, the program educates them about the water environment through hands-on experiences at the water purification plant where Han River water becomes tap water. For youth class groups, they learn about inquiry topics such as when tap water production began and where the Arisu water in school water fountains comes from. For adults, the program consists of a tour of the old Guui Plant No. 1 and Plant No. 2. The program operates twice a day on weekdays at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and applications can be made through the Seoul Metropolitan Government Public Service Reservation website or by phone.
