Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located between Gangdong Bridge and Jamsil Railway Bridge, Gwangnaru Hangang Park is a park that best preserves the natural state of the Han River, featuring a naturally formed sandbar and a large reed colony created by sediment deposited from the upper stream of the Han River. As the only water source protection area in Seoul, boating and various water and leisure activities are prohibited, keeping the water clear and clean. The greenery of Achasan Mountain to the north and the 2km-long reed field on the Han River floodplain harmonize beautifully, offering a stunning landscape. Additionally, Gwangnaru Hangang Park is a habitat for migratory birds. Nearby, numerous cultural heritage sites such as the Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement are scattered, making it a place where nature and culture blend well.
