Gasa Dongbaek Forest Beach is a beautiful beach located on the south side of Joyakdo Island in Wando. In March, red camellia flowers create a spectacular scene by dyeing the blue seawater red. This is the only beach on Joyakdo Island, where hundreds of centuries-old camellia trees, along with machilus and castanopsis trees, surround the entire beach in a circular embrace. The beach is about 300 meters long, modest in size, but offers the opportunity to enjoy both swimming and forest bathing at the same time.
The rocky reefs at both ends of the sandy beach at Gasa Dongbaek Forest Beach are famous sea fishing spots, rich in fish resources such as sea bream, sea bass, and rockfish, allowing fishing year-round. Additionally, when the tide goes out during low tide, tidal flat experiences are possible.
