Gasaegioreum is a small, cone-shaped volcanic cone without a crater, lying horizontally northwest of Yeonmi Village in Oradong. Its north-south elongated ridge is densely covered with pine trees, forming a forest. According to feng shui theory, the Minoreum to the south of this oreum is shaped like a dog, and this oreum below it is shaped like a puppy attached to its mother, hence it is called [Gaesaekkiorum] (Puppy Oreum). The northwest slope of the oreum, symbolizing the dog's chest in the image of a mother dog and puppy together, has been considered a auspicious site since ancient times.
