Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Milal Museum of Art began in 1999 when the director collected works with special care, starting in the space of Milal School, a school for developmental disabilities, and is now located at Milal Art Center. The exhibitions and collections here have three characteristics. First, it collects and restores North Korean paintings, connecting lost time in Korean art history through the works. Second, it annually exchanges with outstanding overseas artists and exhibits works from China, Russia, and Eastern Europe. Third, it discovers talented new artists and artists with disabilities and supports them in holding exhibitions. Milal Museum of Art is a space for art lovers, a complex cultural space where people with and without disabilities meet through works and create beauty, sharing with many people.
