Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Yongsan Library

Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Yongsan Library opened in April 1981 in Duteopbawi Village, Huam-dong, located on the slopes of Namsan Mountain. The building spans from the first basement floor to the fifth floor, equipped with various facilities such as a literature information room, digital and periodicals room, children's room, and self-study room, supporting local residents' reading, lifelong education, and leisure activities. Reflecting the high proportion of foreign residents in the area, it operates various multicultural programs including Korean language classes for foreigners, and the children's room offers leveled English original books and multilingual books. Additionally, it runs poetry as a specialized project, providing creative poetry contests, poetry writing classes, and award-winning galleries to engage with poetry in diverse ways, along with cultural programs such as a small gallery and film screenings. The first-floor cafeteria operates at affordable prices, receiving positive responses from local residents, and the fifth-floor rooftop garden offers a panoramic view of Seoul, gaining attention as a sunset spot in the city center.
