Daboseong Gallery

Since its opening in 1983, Daboseong Gallery has collected numerous high-quality antique artworks and valuable historical materials, striving to supply them to national museums, as well as municipal, public, university, and private museums. It has also protected top-tier cultural assets that were at risk of being taken abroad, and through fierce competition, brought back precious North Korean cultural relics that were being sold to Japan and other countries, playing the role of a guardian of our cultural heritage. Daboseong Gallery annually exhibits small and precious items that our ancestors used in their daily lives. On display are charming small items including the four treasures of the study (brush, ink stick, paper, and inkstone), a small frog-shaped inkstone, a censer lid carved with a mandarin duck motif, Silla period earthenware figures, and Joseon period white porcelain figurines.
