Gayasan National Park (Hapcheon)

Designated as a Historic and Scenic Site on June 24, 1966, and as the 9th National Park on October 13, 1972. Gayasan National Park covers a total area of 76.256 km², located where Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do meet. The towering Sangwangbong Peak, also called Udu Mountain, boasts an elevation of 1,430m. This place has been renowned since ancient times as one of the Ten Scenic Spots of Haedong or one of the Eight Views of Joseon, and it is also the fundamental temple of Korea's Hwaeom sect, housing the Tripitaka Koreana at the Dharma Treasure Temple Haeinsa.<br>Address: 1200 Gayasan-ro, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Gayasan National Park Management Office
